Heavy Industry Logistics (HiLOG) specialises in heavy industry logistics and super-sized projects. Our team recently completed a challenging rig move from Kenya to Tanzania. The task was to relocate the rig from a remote site south of Nairobi to Kambsamba in Southern Tanzania, covering a distance of 1,535km, all within a tight two-week timeframe.

The skilled HiLOG team quickly mobilised the necessary cranes, lashing materials, trucks, and personnel to safely transport the rig to Tanzania, crossing the Namanga border. To comply with Tanzanian Road Authority regulations, the cranes disassembled the heavier components at the border using tandem lifts, ensuring both safety and efficiency during the process.

With all permits and escorts in place, the rig and its convoy of 19 trailers continued their journey to Kambsamba. The primary goal throughout the project was to support our client, Helium One, by providing a fast, efficient, and secure rig move for their upcoming drilling campaign.
