HiLog re-exports heli-fuel tanks to Houston/ Texas
With oil & gas logistics practically being the hobbyhorse of HiLOG’s Directors. This re-exporting project from Mtwara Tanzania to Houston was a match made in heaven.
Thanks to our 10-year history of working in the African oil & gas industry we were able to guide the shipper and previous importer on all the documents we required and the clearance & authorization letters.
We successfully managed to re-export some de-mobbed heli-fuel tanks from Mtwara, Tanzania to Houston. The tanks had been brought into Mtwara a couple of years ago for Statoil under their offshore oil & gas project exemption. After their drilling campaign closed down the tanks were transferred to Ophir under a Product Sharing Agreement (PSA), also under project exemption from duties / taxes.
The tanks were 7 and we loaded them into our 1 x 40’DV and 1 x 20’DV containers. We then set up flatbeds at Mtwara free zone on the date we had agreed upon with our client, brought the tanks to Dar es Salaam, where we stuffed them into the containers and handed over to the shipping line.
Thanks to our 10-year history or working in the African oil & gas industry we were able to guide the shipper (Ophir) and previous importer (Statoil) on all the documents we required and the clearance & authorization letters required from TRA Large Tax Payers office, Tanzania Petroleum Development Corporation (TPDC) and customs to correctly submit export declaration and effect smooth passage for the tanks to be exported.
The directors of Heavy Industry Logistics have a combined 20 years working in the African oil & gas industry. Mainly in West Africa, they have brought their knowledge and experience into the relatively smaller and younger market in East Africa for the last 4 years.
